Twenty five women gathered for Bible study, a general meeting and salad luncheon on July 16 at the church. The Priscilla and Rachel circles hosted the luncheon. Pastor Carl Engstrom lead the group in Bible study. Scripture stories read and discussed were Luke 1:45-55, 1 Kings 17:8-24 and Luke 21:1-4. These stories illustrate how God’s love, compassion and kindness flow into us, and we respond by sharing our abundance with a world in need. God provides the “spiritual food” to sustain us in our times of trial, and we gratefully respond through quiet, often unnoticed acts of service. No matter what other thanks we might receive, we know God is at work in us and through us. The next general meeting is August 21 at 6:00 p.m. with a evening potluck hosted by the Sarah and Martha Circles. All are welcome.
