On the Day of Pentecost the risen Christ, through the promised gift of the Spirit, gave the church the gifts necessary to share the good news of the resurrection. The liturgical color for the Day of Pentecost is red, symbolizing the fire of the Holy Spirit. On May 25 and 26, all are encouraged to wear the color red to worship in celebration of this sentinel event in the founding of the Christian faith.
